Welcome to the Lazy Lounge. You can find us at 139 Oceanview
road, Oneroa on the wonderful Waiheke Island, Auckland,
New Zealand.
You can get to us when in Auckland by Ferry from the Downtown
Auckland Wharf. Ferries leave every hour during the day
but please click on the Fullers link found on the right
hand side of this page for further details.
The Lazy Lounge was started in 1999 by two friends Nick
Saunders and Patrick Thompson who wanted to settle on
Waiheke but needed something to do make a living and keep
them here. The building the Lazy Lounge is in is actually
the original tea rooms in Oneroa and that dates back to
the 1920s. It had since become a house and through
the commercial zoning Nick and Pat were able to bring
the tea room spirit back to life and make it into the
institution that is now known as the Lazy
Lounge. We are the Longest serving Café Owner/Operators
on Waiheke and pride ourselves on that fact.
We attract all kinds of people from teens to pensioners,
businesspersons to backpackers and offer them good value
for money meals and a chilled out and relaxed atmosphere.
The Lazy Lounge is Family Oriented and we have a small
childrens area in the back of the garden just for
those wee ones. We have an in house radio station Waiheke
Wireless 88.2 FM (keep checkin the website for further
information soon) that keeps the smooth/funky/eclectic
groove going in the café and provides the theme
music to the colourful visuals here at the Lazy
Lounge.
We open at 8am and offer a wide selection to choose from
for Breakfast and then meandering into a Scrumptious Lunch
Menu, Pizza Menu and snack menu and beyond, including
delights in our deli cabinet if you are only in the mood
for a little munch !!.
We hope to be licensed for the summer of 2005 -2006 and
give just that extra bit more for the evenings. In the
meantime we offer the islands finest coffee freshly roasted
here on Waiheke by Jane and Steve of Island Coffee
Roasters
thanks you guys. The Lazy Lounge is
proudly supportive of Local Suppliers and in turn is thankful
for their support.
If you ask us, Waiheke Island is the best place in the
world to live and be on.
Please pop in and say hi if you are in the Neighbourhood
and you will understand why we think this way.
Thanks for visiting our website...we look forward to meeting
you in person someday soon but till then............H
